Late but still giving you an insight of my stay in Paris for Mens Fashion Week at the end of June. I wasn’t really active writing in the last couple of weeks. Too much traveling to many shows and events, no time to relax means no time at all to write. This Mens Fashion Week showed me again how much I love Paris and gave me new inspirations of how I want to work in the future. PARIS FASHION WEEK HOMME S/S18
This june, when I arrived it had 37 degrees which was quite unexpected. I knew that it would be hot but not that hot. The weather changed in the middle of the week to a nicer temperature of about 27 degrees. Sweating was something you couldn’t bypass anyways.
I was quite curious how fashion-people are dressed at this temperature. I didn’t even know myself what to wear because I’ve just packed some suits and I knew for sure that didn´t want to wear the jacket at 37 degrees. Not really surprising that most of the people wore jackets and layers anyway, which was ridiculous to me. But hey, thats fashion. After the first days of over 30 degrees wearing just short-sleve shirts, I decided to wear my full suits.
I had the problem that I was just traveling with my hand luggage, so I didn’t have enough space for clothing. Out of this reason I had to combine my pieces in different ways, for not looking the same all the time. As you guys have noticed, i wasn’t really wearing black at all. I changed my way of dressing in the last months. More elegant, more 70s chic. Using darkish colors as forest green and carmine red or different combinations of brown and grey.
THE SHOWS AND EVENTS
Some pictures of shows I have already posted on my website including my favorite show of S/S18. Sean Suen nailed it this season and got me immediately with his collection. The colors, the shapes, everything was perfect as much as the choice of his models. But this wasn’t the only show I have been to. Weather Hed Mayner or Rynshu, every show had its special moments and pieces I liked. One day I had the opportunity to see the new collection of CMMN SWDN in a Showroom at Le Marais which I really loved, another day was at the Birkenstock Summer Cocktail. At Jardin des Tuileries Birkenstock haven’t shied any costs to build a house of glas with a jungle of flowers and plants, which was impressive. Another highlight was the ASOS cocktail at the end of Fashion Week, presenting the new collection. I loved all this pieces of the 70s collection and hope to show it to guys soon styled on me.
Visiting Paris is always a good idea, for Mens Fashion Week even more. I love the vibes in Paris and its so much more fun working with Parisian agencies. That brought me to the point where I told myself to work more in France, trying to get more cooperations and spend more time in Paris.
A special thank you to Sebastien Gaudard Patisserie for a perfect stay in Paris and Elena for helping me take most of my pictures.
